It is home to the most of the commercial business in the province. Many establishments had been starting up and building their business in this town. Though there are lots of local businesses, big franchise companies also had started investing which is good sign of economic progress not only for Boac but for the whole Marinduque province itself.
One of this is the Mercury drug which was franchised around 2013.
Last November 2014 Puregold Boac has also started its operation.
And December 2019, the first ever mall in Marinduque had its grand opening. This is the GT 168 Mall located in Santol, Boac, Marinduque.
